What a start to the day...

August 10th, 2006 at 09:17 am

Overslept - woke at 09am when DD friend arrived to play. Thank goodness I work from home and don't have a clock watching boss.
Then just to make me even later, I discovered that I had run out of my Chronic Meds and we needed some grocery essentials.
Off to the pharmacy - $60 later - I have to sort out my medical insurance (why is it that my disorganisation always ends up costing me money).
Spend another $25 at the grocery store for really basic essentials - why is it that when the gas price goes up everything else goes up. Frown

Goals for Today:
1. Call 10 clients for followup appointments DONE
2. Update account plans for these 10 clients NOT DONE
3. Tidy out office and put aside extra supplies so that I am not constantly looking for stuff or rushing out to buy. DONE
4. Sewing room - 2hours - need to finish daughters sweats NOt DONE
5. Tidy house for 15 minutes DONE
6. Bake cookies while preparing dinner tonight NOT DONE

Back to work...

I am off to bed - just too tired tonight to do anymore.

Will check in tomorrow

Busy Day...

August 9th, 2006 at 06:01 pm

Managed to get through quite a lot today:
1. Review all client files and set sales goals for the quarter - DONE
2. Get into sewing room - DONE Panties cut out and sewn: Savings $20
3. Sort out office - NOT DONE - a bit of procrastination here. Will try for tomorrow
4. Supper - DONE - fish, fries and salad - yummy
5. Check Bank Balances - DONE - have got about $800 till the end of the month. Still need to keep money for gas, food etc.
Oh my daughter had her hair extensions done by a friend so we gave her a gift of $15. She looks wonderful.

Well now I am going back to my sewing room to cut out the sweats for DD - savings $15.

Thank goodness I sew and have a stash of fabrics (like many sewers) in my cuphoards. I love the down time it gives me and able to put the TV on whilst I stitch away.

I just love holidays - it is great to get things done and caught up.

See ya tomorrow.

Goals for Today

August 9th, 2006 at 09:11 am

Today is a holiday here so I am going to use the time productively:
1. Review all client files and set sales goals for the rest of the Quarter
2. Get into my sewing room and make panties for DD and myself. Also need to make her some sweats - it is winter here and she is on school holidays so play clothes are a priority. (Our children wear school uniforms here in South Africa thank goodness).
3. Tidy out my office and look for all unused stationery so that I don't rush out to buy and then come home to find I already had it lost in all the untidiness
4. Find something to make for supper in our nearly empty grocery cuphoard
5. Check the bank balances to see what is left for the month for food, gas etc and maybe even find something extra to pay on debt.

Will check in later

Starting Out

August 8th, 2006 at 05:41 pm

Okay well that was a great start - lost my entire entry so here I go again.
My debt accummulated as a result of my 5 year Gambling Addiction and now that I am 184 days into my recovery (GA language) it is time to tackle the debt and get focused on achieving some goals other than staying away from Gambling.
With lots of Grace and Blessings I am already well on my way to total recovery but still live my life one day at a time.
And that is about all I am going to say about my Gambling Addiction.
I started Dave Ramsey's TTMO on the 12 July and wanted to keep track of my progress. It is so easy for one to think you are not making progress when you can't look back to the past.
Starting Debt on the 12 July 2006:
Home Remodeling: $345
CC1: $715
Timeshare Levy: $730
Bank Overdraft: $929
Loan from Dad: $857
Swimming Pool Renovation: $1429
Private School Fees: $1219
Car Loan: $11073
Bank Overdraft 2: $7000
CC2: $13716
CC3: $15918
HEL: $57143
First Mortgage: $114286
TOTAL DEBT: $225360
Shocking isn't it. Oh well one day at a time applies here too I think.
Fortunately, I can earn bonuses to pay off some of this debt and my income is above the average.
Will give you an update on my progress on the 12 August - have already made some major changes but I will keep them for my next journal entry.
Now before I lose this entry i am going to "save and publish"
See ya
To all the regular bloggers, I love your journals - they give me such hope
